Mogo Zoo is an organisation committed to the survival of endangered animals. It provides world-standard facilities for over 200 animals of more than 40 rare and exotic species, including the largest collection of primates in any private Zoo in Australia. This extraordinary zoological collection includes chimpanzees, pygmy marmosets, giraffes, reptiles, Nepalese red pandas, golden lion tamarins, meerkats, cotton-top tamarins, ring-tailed lemurs, Brazilian tapirs, silvery gibbons, Sumatran tigers, oriental small-clawed otters, snow leopards, African lions, siamangs, spider monkeys and zebra. The Zoo also has the largest collection of primates in any private Zoo in Australia.
Mogo Zoo has attained the international reputation as being one of the most successful private Zoos in Australia, winning the Regional Attraction Award in the South Coast Awards for Excellence in Tourism in 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2007. The Zoo was also the proud recipient of the Excellence in Tourism and Most Outstanding Business of the Year Awards in the 2010 Batemans Bay Business Awards.
Mogo Zoo features beautiful picnic grounds set in luscious wildlife surrounds, barbeque facilities situated just metres from the exhibits, cafe and gift shop.
The keeper talks and feeding sessions offer an educational experience and provide visitors with an insight into the natural behaviours of the animals. The sessions commence daily at *10.30am and 1.30pm.
It is Mogo Zoo's aim to involve and to educate the public and offer its visitors an intimate, educational zoo experience.
